Have you ever visited a doctor or a specialist and felt unseen, unheard, or not centered in your appointment? Perhaps you had to wait weeks or months to even get that appointment with agonizing symptoms and fear of the unknown building up. You interact with the staff, sit in the busy waiting room, wait even longer in the clinician room--alone, feeling like no one understands the hoops you had to jump through to even make it to this first-available appointment. Finally, the doctor enters and you get their divided attention for 15 minutes; they are gone before you have time to process what happened. You leave the building feeling defeated, confused, with no real answers, wondering if anyone cares about your well-being.
I have experienced this scenario over and over, aware that once is traumatic enough. I am white, trans male, privileged with education, a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health, and an Associate’s degree in Paramedicine. A licensed paramedic, I was working in the Emergency Medicine, when I first received this status-quo treatment as a patient. A Paramedic’s main role is being our patient’s advocate. Even with this training and experience, I could not advocate for my own health in- and outside- of the many, many appointments.
If you have ever found yourself feeling similarly, then I am the practitioner for you. If you feel invisible and are ready to be seen, I am here. I prioritize listening to your story while assessing your condition and addressing any concerns by facilitating relaxation and balance in the body. Bowenwork is about finding our balance, our baseline, our homeostasis. The closer we are to our balanced state of being, the more efficiently our best protector-- our immune system, can function for us.
I want to bridge this gap in access by bringing the Bowenwork session to your home, work site, or convenient location of choice. I have witnessed the positive effects of Bowenwork in a variety of settings including hospitals, ambulances, sporting events, farms, wildland fire camps, and other job sites. Every experience has taught me that even in a not-so-ideal setting for healing, a little bit of Bowenwork is better than no Bowenwork. Allow me to conveniently bring the presence of healing to you.
